Volunteers from the wonderful Hive family of business supporters rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into getting our building ready for the start of the new school year.
Team members from Bathgate Business Finance, Bridging Finance Solutions, DSG Accountants, Handelsbanken, Langtons and Vextrix gave up their time for our first ever group volunteering day on Wednesday 4th September to clean, tidy, repaint and refresh The Hive ready for our autumn season of activities and support sessions.
From the high-footfall stairwell up to our rooftop kick pitch to our hallways, training kitchen, art room, salon and rec areas, the teams tackled all sorts of cleaning and painting jobs to get The Hive back into order after a busy summer of holiday club for children from across Wirral.
Our CEO, Jayne Wilson, said: “We really can’t thank these businesses enough for all their hard work and for giving up their time to help. This is a huge building and so to have all this incredible support to give it a deep clean and a fresh coat of paint is just invaluable. We can’t do what we do for Wirral’s young people without the support of local businesses, our Hive 100 members and our incredible patrons – they understand the power of long-term support for our members, who are the next generation of workers, parents and community leaders here on the Wirral.”
