Hive Live goes off with a bang

Author Neil Gaiman famously said, “When things go wrong, you should make good art.” That was certainly the spirit last night at the first-ever Live at the Hive, where young people from across the Wirral were invited to The Hive for a night of free entry, food and membership as well as a evening packed with energy, passion, and sheer talent.

A Buzzing Start
After a few technical hitches, (wouldn’t be a live music event without them!) The night kicked off in style with an electrifying performance from MDP dance group, who wasted no time in setting the bar high with an exceptionally energetic routine. Their sharp moves and infectious enthusiasm had the crowd cheering from the start, proving that Live at the Hive was going to be something special.

A Stage Full of Talent
The evening continued with an impressive line-up of local artists, each bringing their own unique sound to the stage. Mollie McKee mesmerised the audience with her heartfelt vocals, while Luke Hogan captivated with his raw, lyrical raps. Rising star, Keem brought an exciting energy to his performance, all acts proving to be real crowd favourites and ones to watch.

Reggae legend Brother Culture added a dynamic twist to the night, getting everyone grooving with his signature sound, before Felcon took things to the next level with another powerful performance.

A Headliner to Remember
The evening was brought to a rousing crescendo courtesy of headliner Jamie Higgs, whose performance was nothing short of spectacular. His stage presence and sing-along, crowd pleasers brought the house down, leaving the audience buzzing with excitement long after the final note had been played.

More Than Just a Show
Live at the Hive wasn’t just about great music and performances—it was a true celebration of talent and community spirit.

The Hive CEO, Jayne Wilson said of the night.

‘I absolutely loved it – the teamwork and the ambition to give our young people the best. A huge thank you to everyone who made it happen – from everyone who worked together on stage set-up, our amazing catering team, all of the acts involved, our cocktail maker Dave and not forgetting of course, Lauren and Mark for planning and putting the whole thing together.’

With such an incredible first event, one thing is certain: Live at the Hive has set the stage for something special, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for next time!
